Enjoy the tropical paradise and another tourist destination discovered in the Island Garden City of Samal. The name of the resort is "Kalipay Sa Baybay" which means Happiness on the beach is the new tourist attraction situated in Barangay Pangubatan, Samal, Davao del Norte. Approximately it can be reached for one and a half hour or estimated 38 kilometers using a private vehicle from Sasa ferry Boat Wharf.

This is a private resort before and opened to the public owned by the Angoy Family.

Staying overnight in the place is definitely fun, so you have time together with your special someone since the signal is very poor. They also have some restrictions like, they do not allow Videoke because of the City ordinance and most importantly smoking is prohibited in the area.

Check out also some of my shots during my stay. but, I didn't explore it well because I just sleep for the whole day and it happened to fall on a holiday. So I just went here for a staycation. 

   

HOW TO GET THERE?

Private Vehicle - Pls ask the driver If the car is automatic because there are two options:

1) The new coastal road which is about 75% cemented but we don’t recommend taking this if you have a manual transmission car.

2) The old road is about 50% cemented - Take this road if you're the car has manual transmission Option One The first option is the new coastal road, this is a newly built road. It’s not yet complete but can be used already. If you have an automatic car, this is a much better option as it cut your drive by 15 minutes and you will avoid most of the rough road. See screenshot of Google Map. The yellow line is the new coastal Road. From the barge, make a left. Then right at the Rotonda. Go straight about 10-15 minutes. At the dead end, make a right at the gas station. Continue for another 15 minutes. When you get to Barangay Anonang, be sure to continue to make a right. DO NOT MAKE A LEFT! When you get to Kaputian there is two bumble bee gas station. At the 2nd gas station, go past it (don’t make a left here just go straight) and head towards Kembali. This is where the new road construction starts. Follow the new road and you will get to Libertad High School. Follow the signs going to Kalipay sa Baybay. Head toward Barangay Pangubatan, Kaputian. Look for the Kalipay sa Baybay sign outside our gate. You’re taking the coastal scenic route and will take another 30 - 45 minutes. Kalipay sa Baybay is in the same area as Apple Beach and Island Garden Resort. Option two. This is the 50% Cement From barge make a right. From the barge, make a left. Then right at the Rotonda. Go straight about 10-15 minutes. At the dead end, make a right at the gas station. Continue for another 15 minutes. When you get to Barangay Anonang, be sure to continue to make a right. DO NOT MAKE A LEFT! When you get to Kaputian, there are two Bumble V Gas Station. At the 2nd Bumble V, make a left going up beside the Sto. Nino Church. From here, follow the signs going towards Island Garden Resort. Head toward Barangay Pangubatan, Kaputian. Follow the Kalipay sa Baybay signs. Don’t be surprised, you are cutting across the forest. This is gonna take another 30 minutes. Kalipay sa Baybay is in the same area as Apple Beach and Island Garden Resort.
